Atilogwu Dancers at the 2017 Cultural Parade

The Calabar festival is a 32 day celebration that encompasses so many events that climax to the Calabar Carnival on the 28th of December every year.


The festival kicks off with a tree lighting ceremony and the flag off of the Christmas village which is a pop up market in the heart of Calabar open throughout December for residents and visitors to experience the diverse cultures in Cross River State through fine cuisines, local delicacies, entertainment and fanfare.


Events include ‘Calabar’s got talent’, Bikers parade, International band Carnival, black music festival, cultural parade, Cross River movie awards, Suya Arcade, Tinapa family funfest, International design and art fair,Miss Africa beauty pageant and the Calabar Carnival.
