Tanzanian Musician Dies After Illness he believed was Contracted through Witchcraft

Sam wa Ukwli, the Bongo artiste with his hit songs “Lofa” and “Hata kwetu Wapo”, died suddenly on Wednesday night (6th June 2018) while in a music studio.

According to the musician’s manager, Amri, Sam fell sick at around 8pm while at Sound Studios. He was rushed to Palestina Hospital in Dar es Salaam where he was pronounced dead.

Sam’s producer, Steve, has said the artiste had confided in them that he had contracted HIV/AIDS through witchcraft.

Steve also revealed that Sam had been working on recording a song about his illness before his demise.
